Analysis - Jamie Lundmark is a player brought in by Burke to fill a vacant roster spot. After sending half of the Leafs forwards to Calgary in the Dion Phaneuf trade, the team was in need of warm bodies.

Claiming Lundmark off waivers (ironically from Calgary) Lundmark stepped right in and played a smart defensive game.


I don't expect Lundmark to be around next year. The UFA served his purpose, and will move on to another team that needs a roster spot filled.

His open roster spot is better filled next year with a young player like Irwin or Hanson.


Every once in a while, a team can hit a home-run with a waiver claim player (see Dominic Moore), unfortunately on this one we were walked to first base.
